北京市石景山区古城第二小学始建于1965年，八十年代初被确定为区重点小学。1986年底，被北京市政府命名为“中秘友谊小学”，先后接待了秘鲁、日本、韩国等外宾的访问和教育交流活动，成为石景山区一所对外开放窗口校，以良好的风貌赢得了广泛称赞，为中外文化交流和友好往来做出了积极贡献。

学校现有35个教学班，1400余名学生，百名教职工，拥有两座教学楼，一座专业教学楼，设有计算机房、音乐、美术、书法、自然、劳动等专业教室，以及有200米跑道环绕的全塑胶操场。

学校以“一切为了孩子，为了孩子的一切”为办学宗旨，按照“以优秀的教师队伍为基础，以优质的课堂教学为中心，以培养学生优良的道德、心理品质为重点，促进全面育人”的办学思路，不断深化教育改革，全面实施素质教育，使学生全面和谐发展，形成了“教育优质、校风优良、环境优美”的三优特色，多次受到市、区表彰奖励，受到家长好评，赢得了社会的信誉。

学校一直“以课堂教学为主渠道，以提高教学质量为突破口，以培养新世纪人才为目标”，着眼于培养学生综合能力，取得了显著成绩。

学校自1986年起承担了由中科院心理研究所主编的《现代小学数学》教材改革实验，在开发学生的智力、培养学生的逻辑思维能力方面，收到突出的成效。2001年，学校又承担了由中科院心理研究所主编的《现代小学语文》教材改革实验，在培养学生的阅读能力、想象能力、感悟生活能力等方面取得成效；为学生拓展阅读、提前练笔习作奠定了基础。在历届全国青少年“春蕾杯”征文活动中均取得了优异的成绩；在石景山区 “创新杯”学科竞赛中，语文、数学学科蝉联四届冠军。

为培养学生的英语综合素质，学校开展了“攀登英语”学习实验，开设了《剑桥少儿英语》课，聘请外籍教师进行授课，强化学生的听说训练，通过假日举办“英语早餐”、“英语擂台赛”、英语夏令营、冬令营、English Party 、English Holiday等活动，学生们学习英语的兴趣浓厚，英语综合素质有了突飞猛进的提高，得到了家长们的肯定和赞同，也受到了社会的广泛关注。

作为石景山区面向北京市唯一的一所“体育传统特色校”，学校始终以“培养健康的人”为学校体育工作的宗旨，开设武术课、围棋课、篮球课、独轮车等特色课程、常年坚持“每月一赛”的制度，促进了全体学生体育素质的提高，连续多年在区各类体育竞赛中取得冠军。

在关注学生学习的同时，学校还创设条件培养学生多方面特长，开展“午间戏墨”、“艺术大课堂”等活动，成立了校合唱团、管乐团、电子技师班、茶艺表演、棋类、摄影、绘画、书法、计算机、外语等多种兴趣小组，各年级成立了数学兴趣小组，田径集训队常年坚持训练……为每一名学生施展才华提供了机会、搭设了舞台。

学校被评为“中国书法教育示范校”、“北京市文明礼仪示范校”、“北京市德育工作先进单位”、“北京市奥林匹克教育示范校”、“北京市体育传统项目学校”、“北京市电化教育优类校”、“区美育工作先进校”、“区科技工作先进单位”，并被区教委命名为“全面发展突出校”，多次获得“石景山区教育工作先进单位”，“精神文明先进单位”等称号，成为“学校规范有特色、教师达标有特艺、学生合格有特长”的开放型、现代化的新型学校，在北京市颇有名气的一所全面发展突出校。

Introduction

Founded in 1965, Beijing Shijingshan Gucheng No.2 Primary School has been the key school of the Shijingshan District since early 1980’s. It was named the Sino-Peru Friendship School by the Beijing government in 1986, and since then has been a window for international exchange in education.

Currently the school has 35 classes, over 1,400 students and 100 teachers and staff. It has two general-class buildings and one building with classes for computer, music, art, calligraphy, natural science and handcraft. It also has a plastic playground with a 200-meter track.

To facilitate “All for Children, for Children’s All”, the school is dedicated to raise highly moral and mentality healthy students with balanced developments in all aspects. The school is reputed with its quality education, moral spirit and neat environment.

Since 1986, the school has been the experimental site for the reform of the Modern Primary Mathematics textbook edited by the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2001, it was chosen again to polite run the Modern Primary Chinese textbook. As a result of the experiments, our students achieved remarkable awards in the national “Bud Cup” youth composition competitions in the past years, and we hold four championships in succession in Chinese and mathematics in the Shijingshan District’s “Innovation Cup “ subject competitions.

In order to increase students’ English levels, Shijingshan Gucheng No.2 Primary School employed foreign teachers to open the Cambridge Children’s English classes. Through the English summer and winter camps, English Party, English Holiday, and English Arena in holidays, both the students’ interests and ability in English was greatly boosted.

As the only sports-featured school in Shijingshan District, the school opens special classes in Wushu, I-go, basketball and single-wheel,. It is a tradition of the school to have one sport contest each month.

To develop students’ specialties, the school also established glee club, wind band, interests groups in tea art, photography, chess, painting, calligraphy, computer, mathematics and English.

The honors that the Shijingshan Gucheng No.2 Primary School has won include Beijing’s Tradition Sports School, Beijing’s Advanced School in Electronic Education, Shijingshan District’s Advanced School in Aesthetic Education, Shijingshan District’s Advanced School in Science and Technology Education, Outstanding School in Full Development, Shijingshan District’s Advanced Unit in Education.
